Three years ago John Popovski started as a Site Manager with us (Happy Anniversary 🎉).

Before that, fifteen years in the industry as a subcontractor - carpenter, plasterer, you name it. And before construction, he owned and operated Subway stores, had a stint managing sales and customer service in retail, and studied biotechnology along the way (renaissance man, clearly).

John worked out early that a career spent looking down a microscope wasn't for him. It turns out the people person instinct he picked up in retail was more useful.

Ask him what a typical day looks like and he'll tell you it's "babysitting tradies" 🤣, but we all know it's a lot more than that. It's inductions, direction, keeping a site's worth of moving parts on track. And doing it with someone who's worked both sides of that relationship, that's a superpower.

What John says he loves most is that no two days repeat. New challenges, systems and things to learn #AlwaysLearning from mechanical jack runs one week to architectural details he's never seen the next.

Three years in, and always up for whatever the next site (or trivia night) throws at him.
