Charles Darwin University is expanding its Nursing and Midwifery programs into Victoria at Artifex Property Group's 1010 La Trobe Street, Docklands - a significant step in the university’s continued growth. We were engaged to design and construct the clinical simulation suite that makes it possible.

It wasn't a simple fitout. This was a full change of use from a commercial office, reclassified to a training facility. That means fire, life safety, egress, and services all redesigned to meet NCC requirements. Just another day. 🙃

Regular readers will know that we do love a live environment. It's practically a personality trait at this point. 😅 The building was fully operational throughout, with teaching spaces directly above and below, noise was non-negotiable and higher impact works were pushed out of hours.

We said the VIC team would get it done and what they've left behind is a simulation suite that looks, feels and functions like a real clinical environment. Midwifery and Nursing are as personal as it gets - people who will be there for some of the most profound moments of a person's life. We don't take that lightly. The conditions we create need to prepare them for the work ahead.
